It seems to be a growing trend to introduce your superhero sequel with an in-between story befor
e the film launches. Guillermo del Torro’s upcoming ‘Hellboy II: The Golden Army’ is no exception. This time it is a comic book that will lead into this summer’s potential blockbuster. The 16-page book is being penned by Mike Mingola based off of a story by del Torro and will be distributed at conventions. A sample of the book can be found on the official Hellboy II website.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the first Hellboy and a 16-page comic book doesn’t really get me excited, but Guillermo has lots of street cred built up with me, so I’ll be checking this film out when it’s released this July.
