WB Pushes ‘Justice’

Things are all ahead full on Justice League, set to be released in 2009. Production was set to begin prior to the strike, but was held off so the writers could give the script another polish (since when do studios make smart moves like that, which makes me wonder how bad the script really is).

The film is being directed by George Miller and written by Kieran and Michele Mulroney. It is set to star Adrien Brody as Flash, Rap artists Common as the Green Lantern, Armie Hammer Jr. (he’s probably heard it all) as Batman, and Megan Gale as Wonder Woman.

I’m not sure how a film like this will effect its other franchises with already existing interpretations of characters (i.e. Nolan’s vision of Batman), which is good that its not coming out the same summer. I’ve never been a huge Justice League fan, but I have no doubt there’s a big audience for this one.

  1. Last I read they weren’t going to end up including Batman and Superman in this. They originally were, but I guess they’re moving towards not including those two in the movie. Presumably because Bale and Routh weren’t involved and it probably would effect those franchises. I guess the way they were going to approach it was that Superman was dead (Doomsday) and Batman had been expelled for being too rogue.

That’s the last piece of speculation I heard.
