Bob Marley will be gracing the silver screen soon. The Weinstein Co. is adapting to film Rita Marley’s 2004 autobiography, ‘No Woman No Cry: My Life with Bob Marley.’ So far, no casting decisions have been made yet, but it is planned that the film will show Bob at two stages of his life: as a 15-year old and as an adult. Producer Rudy Langlais has said the film will be an “epic romance” depicting Bob and Rita’s relationship through Marley’s career, the assassination attempt on his life and his ultimate death from cancer in 1981.
The film is currently scheduled to begin production early next year with the hopes of a late 2009 release.
