Bob Dylan Wins Pulitzer Prize

122752__dylan_l.jpgMusician Bob Dylan has been awarded a Pulitzer Prize.

Dylan received a special citation for his contribution to music. Dylan has been writing and performing for over 40 years.

The citation said Dylan had a ‘profound impact on popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power.’ The award carries a prize of $10,000.

Suffice to say, if you haven’t seen Dylan perform live, you’re truly missing something. Writer Paul Williams compares it to seeing Pablo Picasso paint or T.S. Eliot write. (And to think that his shows rarely sell out… I mean, don’t people want to watch a genius at work? Guess not…)
