O’Brien Has Been Replaced

Conan O’Brien’s successor has been named.  Although there has not been an official announcement, it’s being reported that the papers have been signed: when O’Brien moves to replace Jay Leno on the Tonight Show he will be replaced by…Jimmy Fallon.  Fallon has wet his feet on the late night talk show circuit having substituted for Letterman a few years back.

Fallon, who found “fame” as the cast member who couldn’t make it through an entire sketch without laughing on SNL as well as an anchor on the late night skit show’s famed “Weekend Update,” more recently tried to make the shift to film with such movies as ‘Fever Pitch’ and ‘Taxi.’

I’m sorry I can’t drum up a bit more excitement about this piece of news but after reading it I had a slight aneurism at the notion that this guy would have an entire late night show resting on his shoulders. If you want the same joy, check out the article here
