The Criterion Collection, arguably one of the best DVD companies out there has announced that they will start releasing movies on high definition Blu-Ray Discs this fall.  The initial list of high-def releases are as follows:

The Third Man
Bottle Rocket
Chungking Express
The Man Who Fell to Earth
The Last Emperor

El Norte
The 400 Blows
Gimme Shelter
The Complete Monterey Pop
Contempt
Walkabout
For All Mankind
The Wages of Fear

The release from Criterion says that the discs will match the current price of their discs.  As a fan on Criterion, I’m incredibly excited about this news.  The loving Criterion attention to movies?  High definition pictures?  How could it get any better?
