The Conversatation Being Adapted for Television

AMC is looking to develop a new television series based on Francis Ford Coppola’s feature film, ‘The Conversation.’

The film, released in 1974 starred Gene Hackman as an electronic surveillance expert. The new series will also take place in the early 1970s, rather then updating the show to modern day. The show will be scripted by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects), and Erik Jendresen (Band of Brothers).

The producer, Tony Krantz, has been trying to adapt the film to television for over a decade, originally looking at having it take place in the modern day. With the solid writing team, I look forward to seeing what will come of this show.
