“Slumdog” Picks Up Eight Awards, Including Best Picture

Danny Boyle’s “Slumdog Millionaire,” was the top winner at Sunday’s Oscars, picking up eight awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay as well as awards for best score and song.  Sean Penn took home Best Actor and Kate Winslet won Best Actress.  Penelope Cruz won Best Supporting Actress, as yet another actress guided to the award by Woody Allen.  In one of the most touching moments of the evening, Heath Ledger won Best Supporting Actor for his work in “The Dark Knight.”  His family accepted his award in his memory.  Here’s the full breakdown of nominees and winners:
