The Secret Life of Houdini

The film rights to “The Secret Life of Houdini,” have been picked up by Summit Entertainment. The novel covers the possibility that Houdini acted as a spy for Britain, and was asked to be an advisor to Czar Nicholas II in Russia.

The book was written in 2006 by William Kalush and Larry Sloman. No writer has been attached to pen the script, but the studio is planning on making the film into an action thriller.

The book also theorizes that Houdini’s death was a result of his history of debunking con artists that posed as spiritualists. The studio says that they are looking to make the film into a franchise.
