Gilroy Under Consideration For Bond 23

Cinema Blend is reporting that writer/director Tony Gilroy is being considered to direct James Bond film number 23.

Gilroy wrote all three Bourne films, “The Devil’s Advocate,” and “Delores Clariborne.”  He also wrote and directed “Michael Clayton,” and “Duplicity.”  The website stresses that Gilroy is one of many being considered, and that pre-production for the new Bond movie is in the very early planning stages.

If Gilroy ends up behind the camera, I would be quite happy.  His writing is top notch, (no word whether Gilroy would even be interested in directing something he didn’t write, or if he would also be asked to co-write the script,) and I’ve enjoyed both of his films.

Of course, we’ll keep you updated with any news, but, this should all be taken with a grain of salt.  A grain of hopeful salt.
