McMahon made a career of appearances on television and radio, he was a self-proclaimed “second-banana,” playing the straight man to Carson. Through the years, McMahon hosted various television talent shows, pitched sweepstakes, and hosted telethons.

He is a personality that touched many generations, and his presence will definitely be missed.

  1. What a great story, that you have written about a great person, Mr. Ed McMahon. I have been a fan of the tonight show, when he and johnny Carson were together , those many years ago. Once again great work.
