George Clooney to Sign WB Dev Deal

George Clooney is about to sign a 2-year thetrical development deal with Sony Pictures.

“I’ve felt like part of the family for almost 20 years,” Clooney said in an official press release. “I’m tremendously excited to be working at Sony Pictures, and we all feel like it’s a perfect match for Smokehouse. Grant Heslov and I hope to deliver the kind of films that will make them proud.”

Their slate looks chock-full of exciting stuff, ‘The Challenge,’ a legal drama from Aaron Sorkin, a spy thriller called ‘The Tourist,’ and ‘Escape from Tehran,’ about a CIA-backed film crew getting hostages out of Iran in 1979 (based on a true story!).

Let’s hope we see some good cinema come out of this deal!
