‘Machete,’ born out of a spoof trailer made by Robert Rodriguez for his ‘Grindhouse’ collaboration has been picked up by Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group for international distribution.
The film stars Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Cheech Marin, Michelle Rodriguez, and Rose McGowan, and tells the story of a Mexican police officer who turns the tables on his enemies.
I’m curious to see how this turns out, I’m a huge fan of the mariachi films, and I’m thinking ‘Machete’ will cover the same ground of Mexican guy kicking ass.
It’ll be interesting to see Trejo as a lead as well. Here’s hoping!
