The documentary ‘Polanski: Wanted and Desired’ has been bought by HBO Documentary for distribution in the US. The Weinstein Co. has obtained international rights. This was one of the first big sales of the 208 Sundance Film Festival.
The film is the story of the Polish director’s 1977 conviction of unlawful sex with a minor. Fearing imprisonment, Polanski fled the US and has never returned.
Other movies screening at Sundance and available for distribution include Barry Levinson’s ‘What Just Happened?’ and ‘Sunshine Cleaning.’
