In another effort to piss its hardcore fans off, producers of the upcoming Terminator sequel ‘Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins,” have expressed interest in delivering a PG-13 rating.
Halcyon co-founder and co-CEO Victor Kubicek told Variety, “The ratings have changed, the PG-13 has increased in intensity.”
Seriously, how many more franchises are they going to ruin with this crap? Live Free Die Hard was a great time, but it wasn’t till it hit home video where audiences could hear the staple “Yippee Kayee Motherfucker.”
Terminator 2 was the first R-rated film I ever saw, it was probably the first R-rated film many people of my generation saw. It’s a dark and violent story, and to dumb it down just so you can sell more tickets and feel better about it wouldn’t be true to the people that have grown to love the franchise.
Between this, McG directing, and Paul Haggis rewriting the script, I’m really not sure what to expect with this one. The only thing that makes me feel better is that Christian Bale is playing John Connor.
