Robert De Niro told Variety that he’s interested in doing two more sequel’s to his 2006 box-office failure “The Good Shepard.” Apparently, the actor/director is working with Martin Scorsese, hoping to produce two more films that tell the history of the CIA. The first sequel will follow the CIA’s history from the Bay of Pigs incident (which was where ‘The Good Shepard’ ended) to the fall of the Berlin Wall and Soviet Union in 1989. The third will deal with events from 1990 to present day.
Personally, I’m a huge fan of Damon, and I wanted to love ‘The Good Shepard,’ but I found it extremely slow, the film never pulled me in. Though, maybe he learned from its failure, and is looking to rectify it with these possible follow ups. I’d be curious to see what turns up.
