One of my favorite video game publishers Ubisoft (‘Prince of Persia,’ ‘Assassins Creed’) is expanding itself into more traditional entertainment by acquiring Hybride, a Montreal-based special effects company.
The company will be integrated into Ubisoft’s Montreal studio, which is stepping into the realm of CG animation. The purchase will improve the animation in Ubisoft titles, as well as increase its connection into feature film.
Some other projects Hybride has worked on include ‘300,’ ‘Sin City,’ and ‘Spy Kids.’
