Documentary pot-stirrer Michael Moore has announced that his latest feature, ‘Slacker Uprising,’ will be released to the internet for free.
The film, which covers Moore’s 2004 tour to encourage previous non-voters to register and speak their voice. The film is being distributed by Brave New Films and will be available September 23rd at Slacker Uprising.com.
Color me intrigued. With Soderbergh trying day-and-date releasing, why not try internet only? Since I’ve loved all his previous work, (including ‘The Big One,’ and ‘TV Nation,’) I know what I’m going to be doing on the 23rd. -Sam
Moore just needs to address the biggest reason for low voter turnout in this country: work obligations. It’s not apathy, it’s the fact that millions of people that work one or two jobs on Tuesdays and can’t make it to the polls.
If we really want to get more people to vote we can start by making election day a national holiday: http://www.thepoint.com/campaigns/make-election-day-a-national-holiday
