A deal has been reached between Fox and Warner Bros., meaning that the hotly awaited movie “The Watchmen,” will open on March 6th as planned. To give you the short-short version of the deal, Warner Bros. will distribute the film, Fox will get 8 1/2% of the gross, a cash settlement and a piece of any sequels and/or spin-offs. Since this will probably be one of the higher-grossing movies of the year, taking the cash and running might have been the best of all possible options.
Needless to say, this is the best of all posibilities. Everyone gets a cut of the movie, and fans get to see it without any delay. Now all we have to just hope that the movie doesn’t suck. -Sam
