If you’re like me, you’re wondering why studios aren’t developing more board games for the big screen.
I mean, sure, Ridley Scott is doing “Monopoly,” but what about “Candyland?” Good question. Thankfully, Universal has heard your worries. “Tropic Thunder,” co-writer Etan Cohen is working on a script and “Enchanted” director Kevin Lima is making this dream a reality.
Do a lot of people sit around and say, “Gee, I really like playing the game Candyland, but I don’t really like all the moving of pieces and of drawing of cards, I wish someone could come up with a way I could just sit and watch?” Well, Universal thinks so.
If I were you, I’d start cashing in your savings bonds, stocking up on non-perishable goods and kiss your family goodbye- the apocalypse is surely at nigh. -Sam
