Variety reports that Sofia Coppola has started developing her dramatic comedy ‘Somewhere’ at Focus Features.
The film stars Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning in the story of a “bad-“boy” actor living the party life at the West Hollywood Chateua Marmont. He is then visited by his 11-year-old daughter unexpectedly, forcing him to look at his life.
The film is being produced by Sofia Coppola and Roman Coppola, and Departed producer G. Mac Brown.
Personally, I’m not a fan of Sofia Coppola’s work, I think ‘Lost in Translation’ was grossly overrated, and ‘In America,’ should have won Best Original Screenplay over it. I’m still feeling fairly bitter about that.
The story line just sounds fairly blah. But, I’ll be glad to review it once it comes out.
