Liam Neeson will be playing the role of Hannibal, originally made famous by George Peppard, and Jackson will be playing Sgt. “B.A.’ Baracus, portrayed by Mr. T in the series. Copley will play the helicopter pilot ‘Howling Mad,’ originally Dwight Schultz.

The film will start shooting this fall in Vancouver.

Carnahan Tackles “A-Team”

Carnahan Tackles “A-Team”

Director Joe Carnahan, (best known for the wonderful “Narc,” and the underwhelming “Smokin’ Aces,”) is reportedly teaming with producers Ridley and Tony Scott on the big scren version of the 1980’s hit TV show, “The A-Team.”  John Singleton just left the project, making room for Carnahan to come in and take over.

Hopefully this will actually turn into something.  I’m not totally excited by it, but since the two Carnahan projects I was really excited for, (“Killing Pablo,” and “White Jazz,”) well, I’ll take what I can get.  -Sam

Don’t Forget ‘The A-Team’

20th Century Fox announced ‘The A-Team’ will be set for release on June 12, 2009 and will be directed by John Singleton. This is more than just a rehashing of another 80’s TV show, this is “Hannibal” Smith ready to put the foot of some good old fashioned American justice to your ass with B.A. Baracus.

It has been reported that Mr. T pitched the movie idea to 20th Century Fox by punching each executive in the face with his iron fist of freedom. Hannibal was also present at the meeting but just fired off a machine gun for 20 minutes, hitting nobody. Once done Mr. T was returned to his retirement home.

Note: OK, I may have totally made up that second part, but who’s to say it didn’t happen? Science? Whatever jerkface.
