After a 100 day strike, members of the WGA yesterday voted to accept the deal agreed to by its board this past weekend. The deal was approved by 92% of the guild.
This means the the Academy Awards, scheduled to be held on February 24th will be held with no picket lines and the vast majority of nominees in attendance.
What’s even better is that this means movies and TV shows will start up production again and that we will be posting news items about deals being done and new movies coming out and not, thankfully, about picket lines. That is, unless the members of SAG go out this spring.
HALLELUJAH! is all I gotta say about this news item, thanks Sam!
