Movie Previews: ‘Crystal Skull’ Trailer Premieres

The trailer for ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,’ has premiered on Good Morning America.

The trailer is now viewable on-line as well as in theaters.

Personally, I’m a little underwhelmed by the trailer, since so much of the running time is devoted to reminding you what the first three were about.  (An ark that was lost, right?  And something about a temple that was doomed?  Maybe?)

No matter, I’m still excited about checking this out.  See the trailer here.

  1. I can’t tell if I was excited when I watched it because of the teaser itself or because of the idea that Indiana Jones is coming back, but either way I’m still pumped about this movie. And I laughed at the “I thought that was closer” line. That was great.

  2. Exactly. There’s so much about this movie that has me excited. Ray Winstone? Cate Blanchett? Karen Allen coming back? Sign me up, I’m there. This trailer? Yeah, not so much. I’m seeing the movie in spite of this trailer, not because of it.

  3. I gotta admit, I had to watch it a few times, but on the first viewing, what he was doing with the whip in the whole scene just seemed too athletic for an aging adventurer. I mean, come on, he was never that good at bouncing around with it, but that was part of the charm, remember Last Crusade, he crashes through the window at the Austrian Castle, the Indy flying around in at out of trucks in this trailer isn’t the Indy I know.

Overall, I’m extremely nervous, Indiana Jones was the trilogy I was obsessed with throughout my childhood.

  4. I totally trust Speilberg with this franchise. Unlike Lucas, he seems to remember and have captured the old serial spirit the first three had with this one. So far, at least. That quick shot in this trailer with Cate Blanchett and Indy driving side by side. That there looks like the Indy special effects I love and the effects that gave it that Saturday afternoon matinée appeal to it.

  5. Looks like it’s going to live up to the hype even though Indy is acting as if he had some extra stuff in his B12 shots!
