Diablo Cody’s ‘Jennifer’s Body’ Reviewed

We don’t have a copy of this script (though I’d love one), but Latino Review has a great report. Being the excited Diablo Cody fan (read: Sarcasm), I’m glad to report some of the tidbits of their review. Apparently the film is extremely gorey, and contains scenes of High School boys graphically torn apart (aw, I’m sure High School was an awkward time for you Diablo). The film takes place in Devil’s Kettle, Minnesotta (I wish I were kidding), and is about a character named Needy whose murdered her friend Jennifer (“and the bumps along the way” -Juno Trailer). After this opening, the film goes back to tell a story of a strange High School friendship that involves some strange demonism.

My favorite part of the Latino Review excerpt:

After school, Jennifer approaches a football player who she saw crying earlier. She assures him that she’s there for him and convinces him to go into the woods with her. Animals surround them as Jennifer undresses and rubs herself all over the football player; suddenly, her mouth opens wide, full of fangs, and she begins to gut him.”

The film is set to begin shooting in March and is starring Megan Fox (Transformers), and directed by Karyn Kusama (Girlfight). I know I’m already set up to not like this film, eating high school boys and witty banter, isn’t my idea of a fun BBQ.
