Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels) has signed on to write and direct a new version of Sherlock Holmes for Warner Bros.
The new film will be inspired by a new comic from Lionel Wigram which paints the classic character as more action oriented. Some of Holmes’ abilities will play a bigger role, such as swordfighting, and boxing.
Holmes’ has seen over 75 actors in his shoes, with over 200 films and TV shows of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle classic since 1900.
An idea of an ass kicking Sherlock Holmes could be interesting, and Guy Ritchie may be the director for the job. He’s been due for a good one, Revolver was one of the most unenjoyable films I’ve seen in a long time.
