ABC and Veoh.com Make a Deal

It always makes me happy to see old television broadcasters finally accepting the shift in technology. ABC granted Veoh.com the permission to stream shows through ABC’s online player (which politely does not allow the skipping of commercials).

ABC will be paying Veoh for directed traffic, but they will not be collecting any revenue from the unskippable ads. ABC has a similar deal with AOL. Hulu however shares revenue to partner sites.

In a world with Tivo, networks like ABC are doing anything to keep afloat with more traditional forms of revenue, though, like much in the past few years, I expect that to change as well.
