Kevin James’ latest comedy, “Paul Blart: Mall Cop,” surprised many, (myself included,) to top the box office this weekend. “Blart” took in $33.8 million. In case you missed that, I’ll type it again: $33.8 million. Just goes to prove that I have no idea about what makes a hit movie.
Clint Eastwood’s “Gran Turino,” came in second, taking $22.2 million, bringing it’s total take to $73.2 million. “My Bloody Valentine 3-D,” “Notorious,” and “Hotel For Dogs,” round out the top five. Those last three opened on Friday.
