The 2009 Independent Film Festival of Boston is approaching quickly, and we’ll be starting out coverage previewing some of the films this week. This years festival will be running from April 22nd through April 28th, with screenings being held at the Somerville Theater, Brattle, Coolidge Corner, and the Institute of Contemporary Art.
The opening night film of this years festival is ‘The Brothers Bloom,’ directed by Rian Johnson, and starring Mark Ruffalo, Adrien Brody, and Rachel Weisz. Also on opening night, one lucky festival attendee will receive a free pair of round-trip tickets courtesy of JetBlue.
As in years past, various cast and crew members of the films in the festival will be in attendance, including Brian Cox for ‘The Escapist,’ which screens Sunday April 26th at the Somerville theater.
Tickets are currently on sale, with things selling out very fast, Ian McFarland and Anthon Moreschi’s ‘Chip on My Shoulder,’ sold out in less then 24 hours. So get your tickets/festival passes now while you still can!
