This review almost didn’t happen. And why do you ask? Because 1/4 of the way through this film, I was ready to shut it off. I bet you’re thinking, no really Vatche, it’s a fourth film in the Fast & Furious series, of course its going to suck. But no, words do not exist in any language to describe how high a steaming pile of garbage ‘Fast & Furious’ is.
The motto for ‘Fast & Furious’ is same parts, new model. Which translates to, everyone who was in the first one is back, and most likely because their careers are all at a low point. Vin Diesel is back as Turetto, on the run, still up to no good with his girlfriend Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). The opening sequence is excellent but was in the firs trailer for the movie. After that, its all filled with some of the worst CGI, action, acting, and story I’ve ever seen in an American film.
Without spoiling it (but really who cares), Toretto is given a reason to come out of hiding, and soon runs into Brian (Paul Walker), whose once again undercover trying to seek out a drug runner who uses racers to traffic drugs through a secret tunnel that runs underneath the Mexico/US border. One “exciting” action sequences has Brian and Toretto racing to escape police through these horribly animated underground tunnels. I’ve seen better CGI on the first Nintendo system.
So who is this movie for? I bet my 10 year old cousin would love it. The first film was fun, low-budget, and despite the silly dialogue and less then stellar acting, I kinda liked it as a fun stupid movie. But this stupid movie, was like getting a root canal for fun.
But, that’s just my two cents.
