36 years ago this week marks the passing of Groucho Marx, of the famed Marx Brothers. Groucho had a long spanning career that began in vaudville, and continued well into the the late 50s and early 60s with his popular game show, “You Bet Your Life.”
I thought that his great sequence from the 1930 film Animal Crackers would make a great video of the week. In the scene, Captain Spaulding (Groucho Marx) has just arrived to party in his honor. The song was long associated with Groucho, and it was also his opening number for his show at Carnegie Hall in 1972.
