Video of the Week: The Sound of Gravity

Video of the Week: The Sound of Gravity

“Gravity” is being heralded for the technology used in its visuals, but that’s only half of it, so much of the experience was its unique sound design and surround mix. Without its amazing and unique sound, I don’t think Gravity would have been as immersive of an experience.

We’ve posted content from the Soundworks Collection before, this one is an interview with “Gravity” Director Alfonso Cuarón and genius Re-recording Mixer Skip Lievsay. Enjoy!

Video of the Week: Gravity – “Detached”

Video of the Week: Gravity – “Detached”

The trailer for Alfonso Cuarón’s latest film “Gravity,” gives me chills every time I see its in IMAX. The concept of spinning off into space is absolutely frightening. Cuarón’s last film was the amazing “Children of Men,” which featured some of the most innovative camera work I’ve seen in modern cinema – I expect nothing less out of “Gravity.”

The short clip doesn’t reveal much more than what the trailer does, but, still is extremely chilling. The film stars George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, and hits theaters October 4, 2013.
