Metallica Album in September?

Drummer Lars Ulrich recently spoke with Bruce “Legendary Singer for Iron Maiden” Dickinson on Dickinson’s BBC radio show and noted that Metallica’s new album is coming along and the band has their eye on a September ’08 release (perhaps if Ulrich would stop doing friggin’ radio interviews about the album he could focus on the actually finishing the album. End editorial).  This yet-untitled album is a follow up to 2003’s ‘St. Anger,’ an album that found the band returning to their musical roots with longer, orchestrated songs.  The album met with some resistance from fans who found its under-produced sound a bit, shall we say, grating?

The upcoming album is being produced by Rick Rubin.
