No, the pictures are not a joke. The Frank of the film’s title is in fact a man who spends his life wearing a large fiberglass head. In its very concept, it is as if the film is proudly waving its freak flag. Alerting all those that this is just a bit weird and certainly of the indie persuasion. [Read more…]

Reviewing film can be very complicated. Regardless of the amount of time that each review takes to write, (and trust me it is more than you think) most go without being fully read. Aggregators like Rotten Tomatoes boil the copious words into a number, and for many filmgoers that’s all they want to see. Of course this argument in and of itself is limiting, since it only refers to those that even bother to entertain us critics. [Read more…]

Video of the Week: Prometheus Trailer

Video of the Week: Prometheus Trailer

This is probably my most anticipated film this summer next to the Dark Knight Rises. I’ve tried to know as little as possible about it outside of the fact that there is some relation to Ridley Scott’s Alien, but, it is a story independent of that film. It stars Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Patrick Wilson, and Charlize Theron, and was written by Damon Lindelof  and Jon Spaihts. I seriously cannot wait for this movie, especially after this trailer.

Set Pics: January Jones as Emma Frost

January Jones best known for her role in Mad Men, is starring as Emma Frost in the new X-Men: First Class film coming from Matthew Vaughn. The film will be focusing on the relationship between a young Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) as they plan for the future of mutants.

January Jones looks good in the 60s era getup, I’m definitely interested in this film. As X-Men as a whole really jumped the shark with the Ratner directed third installment.

Cronenberg Casts “The Talking Cure”

David Cronenberg has cast the three lead roles in his new movie, “The Talking Cure.”  Keira Knightly, Christoph Waltz and Michael Fassbender will be playing the leads in the film adaptation of the Christopher Hampton play.  Waltz and Fassbender, as you know, both appeared this year in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds.”

The story is about the relationship between Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud and their relationship with a patient named Sabina Spieirein.  And, if what I think I know about Cronenberg is true, the relationship between these three will get strange.  Quickly.  No start date for production has been announced.
