There was a time when cinephiles could actually get excited for the latest Luc Besson film. No, no, not one of the many films the guy is credited for writing, or the even more he produces. Eastwood to Tackle Supernatural Story

Clint Eastwood will tackle a supernatural story written by Peter Morgan and, reportedly starring Matt Damon.  Morgan wrote “The Queen,” “Frost/Nixon,” and has recently been announced as the writer of the next James Bond movie.

The plot of this new Eastwood/Damon movie, titled, “Hereafter,” is unknown.  Reportedly, it is a supernatural thriller in the vein of “The Sixth Sense.”  If these three names weren’t enough to excite you, Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall will produce.

Eastwood’s latest movie “Invictus,” starring Damon and Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela will be released this coming December.

Damon Signs On for Eastwood’s ‘Human Factor’

Matt Damon has signed on to star in “Human Factor,” a new film directed by Clint Eastwood at Warner Bros.

Damon will be playing rugby star Francois Pienaar, who with Nelson Mandela, created a rugby team that brought whites and blacks a common sense to rally around the healing country of South Africa.

The film also stars Morgan Freeman, and has Nelson Mandela’s blessing.Though I loved Mystic River, I wasn’t a huge fan of Million Dollar Baby and Flags of Our Fathers (Though I heard Letters from Iwo Jima was a far better film). This one sounds very interesting, and probably another nomination for ol’ Clint.
