Director Rob Marshall is returning to the musical genre after taking a swing at period film with “Memoirs of a Gesha.” “Nine” is a musical version of Federico Fellini’s classic “8 1/2.” The story (of both the Broadway play and the movie,) is about a movie director who faces a mid-life crisis on the eve of his 40th birthday and while he is enjoying his biggest professional success thus far.
The movie boasts an insane cast. Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cottiard, Penelope Cruz, Judi Dench, Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren and Fergie. The movie opens at Thanksgiving. Check out the trailer here.
