News: ‘Persepolis’ Shown Legally in Tehran

Oscar-nominated animated movie ‘Persepolis’ has been shown legally in Tehran, albeit in an edited version. The animated movie, based on the graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi. The movie is considered controversial in Iran because of its satiric take on the 1979 Iranian revolution. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called the movie ‘Islamophobic’ and ‘anti-Iranian.’
