Whedon to Direct Avengers

Whedon to Direct Avengers

Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy, Serenity, and a host of other short-lived Fox shows (of course minus Buffy) is in final negotiations to direct ‘The Avengers.’

‘The Avengers’ is the superhero film we’ve all been waiting for, where characters in all the recent Marvel Studios adaptations will team up for one epic movie. The avengers movie has been hinted in the other Marvel films, a cameo by Nick Fury at the end of Iron Man, etc.

‘The Avengers’ will follow the debut of Captain America in ‘The First Avenger.’ It is expected that Edward Norton, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, and the actors that are playing other major characters in subsequent movies will reprise their roles in this film.

Definitely psyched for this one.

Justin Reviews: The Incredible Hulk

HulkLouis Leterrier’s ‘The Incredible Hulk’ was going to inevitably draw comparisons to Ang Lee’s 2003 ‘Hulk.’ Only 5 years have passed since we had our first major outing with the character. For me, this was an interesting opportunity to have another look at Marvel Comics’ big green monster. [Read more…]

American Gladiators: “You won’t like them when they’re ANGRY”!

Just caught wind of this one via the Hollywood Reporter: Apparently on June 9th American Gladiators will have themselves an Incredible Hulk themed episode to promote the upcoming film! Audience members will be flooded with Hulk paraphernalia, while the gladiators (including a very green Titan) themselves will get to use those big toy hulk hands in the gauntlet event. Plus, to top it all off, Lou Ferrigno will be a special guest host (thus doubling your Hulk-hosting power).

BWAHAHAHAHA, how funny and awesome is that! I don’t care what anyone says, it’s great to see Lou Ferrigno back on tv again—His ‘incredible hulk’ use to scare the crap out of me when I was a little guy back in the day.

Second ‘Incredible Hulk’ Trailer Online

The second trailer for the upcoming Ed Norton flick, ‘The Incredible Hulk’ is now online. I must say, this trailer is about a million times better than the first one. The movie featured in this trailer actually looks good! Hulk still looks like a CG model, but I’m starting to think that perhaps it’s not possible to create an 8 foot green man and have it not look fake. Anyways, leaps and bounds beyond the first trailer and actually making me more than “Eh, I’ll probably catch it at some point.”

Check it out here!

Marvel & Norton in ‘Hulk’ Smash-Up

Marvel & Norton in ‘Hulk’ Smash-Up

Deadline Hollywood Daily is reporting that actor and screenwriter Edward Norton clashed with Marvel Studios about the cut of their upcoming film and second take on the Hulk story.

Norton has now agreed with Marvel, after offering up his own cut of the movie. Norton reportedly thinks that the Marvel cut will make a lot of money for all involved, which, is probably a good thing considering the thud that the first Hulk movie made.

Marvel is insisting that Norton is happy with the cut, and that his longer, more character-driven cut wasn’t the most commercial thing. They also say that Norton will do promotion for the movie. You will remember that Norton had similar issues with Paramount with his role in the ‘Italian Job’ remake movie.  ‘The Incredible Hulk,’ opens June 13th.

‘Hulk’ Trailer Online

‘The Incredible Hulk’ trailer finally premiered yesterday and for those who weren’t watching MTV at 9:56pm, it’s now available for viewing on MTV’s website. It’s a good trailer. And do we get to see the big guy? Yep. The Abomination? Yep. I don’t know, though. The trailer didn’t get me as excited as I hoped it would. It looks good, but for whatever reason, the trailer made Norton seem miscast as Banner/Hulk. I’m still pumped for the film, though. High hopes for this one!

‘Hulk’ Smash! (Finally)

Final-friggin-ly, we’re getting the first teaser trailer for the upcoming film, ‘The Incredible Hulk.’  The trailer will be hitting television this Wednesday, 3/12, on the various MTV and VH1 stations just before 10pm.  The trailer will then be available exclusively on MTV.com for a period of time.  I really hope the trailer kicks enough ass to warrant watching the 17-inevitable minutes of online previews for ‘Parental Control’ that will come before it.

‘The Incredible Hulk’ stars Ed Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth and William Hurt and hits theaters June 13th.

‘The Dark Knight’ Looms in the Shadows a Bit Longer

Looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see the second trailer for the upcoming ‘The Dark Knight.’  Originally slated to be attached to the film ‘10,000 B.C.,’ the new trailer’s release has been pushed back.  There is still some speculation as to when, how or if it will be released at all.

All I have to say is that the trailer better come out sooner than later.  I need a new fix.  In a similar vein, the trailer for the upcoming ‘The Incredible Hulk’ will be premiering next week at ShoWest (and hopefully available online shortly after that).  Maybe that’ll hold me over.
