‘Bastards’ Ready to Roll

Quentin Tarantino has reportedly cast Melanie Lauret as a young Jewish woman who flees to Paris in his upcoming World War II movie, ‘Inglorious Bastards.’  Laurent is a French actress and has starred in a bunch of films in Europe, none of which catch my attention as something I’ve seen or heard of.

Shooting is set to begin on October 13th in Germany.  No release date has been set, but Tarantino has said he wants to screen at next year’s Cannes Film Festival.  Ambitious, sure.  But didn’t he say that about ‘Kill Bill’ too?

With Quentin Tarantino finally getting pre-production started on his seventh feature film, attention has been re-focused on the 1977 Italian film from which Tarantino took his title. Enzo G. Castellari’s ‘Inglorious Bastards,’ is, like Tarantino’s promises to be, a ‘men on a mission’ film. [Read more…]

The cast list keeps growing and growing, this time, comedian Mike Myers has joined the ranks of Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, B.J. Novak, Simon Pegg, Nastassja Kinski, David Krumholtz by signing on to “Inglorious Bastards.”

The WWII film has the whole town talking. Mike Myers will play British General Ed Fenech, who takes part in the plan to wipe out Nazi leaders.

Director Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever) has signed on to play a part in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film ‘Inglorious Bastards.’ He’ll be playing the part of a baseball-bat swinging Nazi hunter.

Also, Tarantino had been planning on possibly casting Leonardo DiCaprio as an SS soldier, but has decided to go with a German actor for the part.

Inglorious Bastards Update

The talk of the town (or internets?) has been Quentin Tarantino’s new WWII film, ‘Inglorious Bastards,’ and everyone wants to be a part of it, including Universal.

Universal is in negotiations with the Weinstein Co. to help bring the movie to theaters. Tarantino and Harvey Weinstein met with five different studios last week about co-financing, and apparently its between Paramount.

It was reported that Brad Pitt recently met with Tarantino to play the character of Aldo Raine, though, no deal has been made yet.

Shooting is on schedule to begin in the Fall in Germany and France.

Inglorious Bastards just got a little more glorious?

Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards has been wrung through the rumor machine over and over again.  We all know the insanity of getting Schwarzenegger, Stallone and Willis to team up, NOT promoting Planet Hollywood, but blowing up Nazi tanks with bazookas.  These three have been linked to this project since the dawn of time, but alas, no official announcement as of yet from anyone’s camp. New Tarantino Movie in 2009?

Quentin Tarantino, he of ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Kill Bill,’ fame, appeared at this past weekend’s Cannes Film Festival in France.  Speaking with the media, Tarantino said, ‘The next movie I’m doing is my World War II movie.  I just finished up the first draft and if ALL GOES WELL, I will be here, in Cannes, in 2009 with ‘Inglorious Bastards.’

‘Bastards,’ if you aren’t aware, is Tarantino’s take on World War II movies.  Kind of like ‘The Dirty Dozen,’ but with F bombs.  Personally, I can’t wait.
