IFFBoston ’17 Spotlight: Stumped

The 15th Annual Independent Film Festival Boston starts Wednesday with STUMPED, directed by Robin Berghaus, a documentary about filmmaker Will Lautzenheiser. Having recently taken a position teaching film, Will visits a doctor because of a persistent pain. Things quickly turn when doctors determine that Will’s arms and legs would have to be amputated to stop what they’ve discovered is a deadly infection. Lautzenheiser turns to humor as a therapy when an opportunity comes up at Brigham and Women’s hospital in Boston to perform an experimental double arm transplant.

The film expands on Director Robin Berghaus’s short film of the same title that premiered at IFFBoston in 2014.

STUMPED premieres at 7:30pm Wednesday, April 26th at the Somerville Theater in Davis Square.

Tickets for STUMPED are available at IFFBoston.org
