James Mangold has signed on to direct a new time-travel thriller for Universal Pictures. The film, called “The Archive,” is from playwright David Auburn (‘Proof’). Auburn adapted ‘Proof’ in 2001, and also wrote ‘The Lake House.’ Mangold’s last few films were ‘3:10 to Yuma,’ ‘Walk the Line,’ and ‘Cop Land.’
