IFFBoston will be opening this years festival with a film from Rian Johnson (Brick). The film is about two orphaned brothers Stephen (Mark Ruffalo) and Bloom (Adren Brody) who grew up in foster homes to eventually become con men. While Stephen tries to plan an even bigger/better con, Bloom yearns to leave the shady business …
‘Children of Invention’ is a film written and directed by Tze Chun (a Randolph, MA native) making its New England premiere this week at IFFBoston. The film is set in and around Boston, and loosely based on Chun’s childhood.
‘That Evening Sun’ is a narrative feature that just won the audience award for Best Picture, and Grand Jury Award for Best Acting Ensemble at the SXSW festival.
‘Make-Out With Violence’ is a narrative feature film from the Nashville based Deagol Brothers. Tim Anderson from ‘Bloody-Disgusting.com’ called is “the American Graffiti of Zombie love stories.’
The 2009 Independent Film Festival of Boston is approaching quickly, and we’ll be starting out coverage previewing some of the films this week. This years festival will be running from April 22nd through April 28th, with screenings being held at the Somerville Theater, Brattle, Coolidge Corner, and the Institute of Contemporary Art.
